Shelley Stokes Eyeway signs

Eyeway signs started out working closely with care homes in the West Midlands. We started to understand their needs in caring for people with dementia. We listened and took their advice and feedback on-board.

This led to the manufacture of easy read signs for the care homes and for individuals living independently in their own home.

Why is this important?

90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000X faster in the brain than text.

Visual content drives engagement, prompts memory and triggers association.

People with a learning disability or specific learning difficulty or memory loss can recognise pictures much more easily than written letters.

What we did.

Through the use of bold text, Braille lettering and clear imagery, our signage has been specifically designed with those living with dementia or learning difficulties in mind.

The signs are very practical being made from hardwearing construction and wipe clean materials.

We can customise our signs by changing the tactile and Braille lettering to suit your specific requirements for your residents or family.

The bedroom signage has an option to include individual numbering as either a discrete reverse engraved number or a more obvious tactile and Braille number.

All of our signs include either a specially commissioned colourful illustration or pictogram depicting the room type. We have no minimum ordering quantity, so you are at liberty to order just one sign and check your design prior to ordering a larger quantity.

“I just wanted you to know that the signs arrived today and we could not be more pleased!  They look great and fit our needs perfectly.  Thank you for all your help and persistence with helping us get this order put together and finished. You get a thumbs up for sure!” Wyoming Retirement Center
