The 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships is a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe.

Swansea, Wales will host the IPC European Athletics championships, the first time the event has been held in Great Britain. Around 560 athletes from 49 countries are expected to compete in the event, which will be staged at Swansea University between 18-23 August 2014.

Rob was selected to represent Team GB and NI in the T52 category for the 100m, 400m and 1500m races in the IPC European Championships.

He was delighted to have been selected after a number of years of hard work and is very pleased to be representing his country in these races.

Rob has had a very successful year racing and currently holds all the British records for track races from 100m to 10,000m. He also holds the British records for half and full marathons on the road.

Rob has been hard at work this year putting many hours into time on the track training. He also spends time in the gym strength training on weight and pulley machines and free-weights.

In the gym Rob puts to use the Active Hands gripping aids that he designed.

When Rob is not training for wheelchair racing he is working on new designs for the Active Hands Company of which is a director, or spending time with his wife and son. He also DJs when he can fit it in!
